Track Shack Grand Opening Photos

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Our friend Alissa at Pabst Blue Ribbon sent me these photos of Track Shacks first day and party. We here at Cycle Jerks have had quite the technical difficulties with image capturing devices lately.

The Lost DNC Photos.

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

My friend and coworker Elliott (of The Skinny Squirrel) has a load of photos from the DNC that I never knew existed! You must take a look through his Flickr photo gallery and read all the titles and descriptions. They’re hilarious.

Here’s a teaser:

This weekend’s events

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

There’s so much going on this weekend it’s insane.

TOOFY
Lets start out with the independent Toofy Film Fest in Boulder this weekend. You can find the schedule for Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th here. Tickets are $30 for all 6 shows and the party or just $6.50 for one (that’s cheaper than any movie theater!). Since Toofy is “More of a party than a film festival” you should check out their after party fashion show on Saturday night, $5. All movies are being shown at the Boulder Theater at 2032 14th St.

New Belgium’s Tour De Fat
Denver is the second stop on the Tour De Fat this Saturday. Come by City Park at 10am dressed your funkiest for a cruise to Denver’s different parks and back (general route here).
Have a car you don’t want anymore? They will be trading someone their car for a new bike! How rad? If you’re not willing or able to give up a car bring in old bike parts you don’t need in exchange for New Belgium beer!!! They will be using the parts to build new bikes on site and donated to Derailer Bicycle Collective (411 Lipan). There is a show that’s pretty funky, too.

If you’re down to log some heart smart hours, Derailer’s Help Day is the following afternoon, Sunday, September 14th 1:00-4:00pm at 411 Lipan. Come help as they sort all the new, glorious donations!

Tim De Frisco Photo shoot
For all you messengers in Denver, Tim De Frisco is holding a second photo shoot (see the first here and scroll down) this Saturday at his studio at 2239 Champa between 11am and 5pm. Bring your bikes! None of the photos will be used for a profit. He will be providing beer, food and any prints you want!

Monolith Festival
This Sat and Sun as well, the Monolith Festival will be taking over Red Rocks. Great music. Need I say more?

Cycle Jerks Flickr Group

Cycle Jerks Flickr Group

Yesterday I started a new Flickr group for all the cyclists of Denver and other cities of Colorado. You can post photos from your Flickr to the group for other people to see or post a topic about how to make your own double toe straps. It is an invite only group (Sorry out of towners!), so if you’re a friend of ours on Flickr, or will soon become one, let us know that you’d like to join the group via FlickrMail.
Our Flickr.

Also, did you see the Flickrlog on the bottom right column of the page? Those photos are randomly streaming from our Flickr right now, but I can set it up to come from the group. So if you want to see your photos on CycleJerks.com post them on the Cycle Jerks group!

Chicago Cuttin’ Crew!

Brad of Trackstar in the cargo race.

I also just read on their blog that they’re upgrading the print versions of the magazine. Now they will sport color covers, real binding and begin international shipping! I can’t wait to see the next issue! I’m sure Brad will be sending some our way when they’re out, right Brad?

I posted some photos from FM Magazine’s Office Party last Saturday on my personal Flickr. If you missed it you should learn your lesson and never do it again. Dancing, babes in scarfs and pencil skirts, jungle juice in the water cooler, people in drag, people half naked, art, free pink pens, boys in suits and fancy hats… What joy! Happy birthday to my fellow midget and editor of FM, Tuyet! We love you lady!
